Martha Dwyer was born and raised in New Haven, Connecticut. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University, with a major in English history and literature. She received her JD from Columbia Law School in 1977, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and received her MBA from Columbia Business School at the same time.

Member of the Board of Directors of Voice of the Retarded, a national organization concerned with quality of life and choice of residential options for persons suffering from mental retardation.

Voice of the Retarded’s Pro Bono Coordinating Counsel. VOR is involved in litigation in a number of states throughout the country and is utilizing the services of pro bono counsel in several of these states.
